am a true animal lover from the bottom of my heart. I would meet so many people in the neighbourhood because I would always ask to pet and visit their animals. Starting when I was about 12, I would ride my bike to people’s homes to feed, empty litter boxes and of course show so much love to their pets; even with a slight allergy I couldn’t resist! As I became a teenager, I was commonly asked to stay at the homes belonging to my parents friends and my own coworkers because they knew I was trustworthy, so loving and would care deeply for their animals. I am a pet parent myself and know the importance of being able to trust those coming into your home and care for your beloved animals. I can absolutely guarantee I will show your pets so much love, and respect your home so you are able to have absolute peace of mind while you are away. I also have no issue caring for senior dogs or puppies, I am patient and wholeheartedly only want them to know love.

I am comfortable with any special or specific medical instructions or adapting to limitations a pet may have, such as assisting a senior dog. With a bit of guidance at first, I would absolutely be willing to administer any medication for your pets; for example, insulin injections as I was a phlebotomist and am very comfortable with needles or medical related requirements. During our meet and greet I would like to discuss certain aspects such as; Deal-Breakers: if your dog has anything that will trigger them such as oud noises, other animals, people wearing hats, or resource guarding. Escape-Artists: Knowing if a pet is an escape artist ahead of time and the areas to be more aware of in your yard would of course be important. Gear Preferences: If there is a specific side you usually walk your dog on, or anywhere they specifically love or hate please let me know Regarding their daily routines, I will keep track of specific feeding times, crate training techniques, and certain toys they can't live without I will also take your vet's contact information as well as a secondary emergency contact so ensure everyone has peace of mind

A typical day with a dog would vary depending on whether I am taking them for a walk or providing a drop-in visit. If we are going for a walk, I make sure to spend some time together first with greetings and attention before beginning our journey. I love to walk everywhere and luckily Thunder Bay is full of paths along rivers and many hiking trails so there will be no restrictions on where we can go together. I make sure that they are both getting the physical and mental stimulation they need by allowing them to stop and sniff plenty of times as the the entire purpose of this walk is for them and their happiness. If time permits, I would love to help wind them down for a nap or relaxation time following the walk so they are able to decompress before leaving. If I'm dropping-in, this will look a bit different because they have different needs. Similarly to the walk, I will allow time for greetings and a quick break to their backyard to do their business. We will then continue by sticking to anything that is typical for the dogs routine; puzzles, training techniques to practice, or just playtime. If it is time to feed them, I will follow strict instructions on the owner's expectations regarding manners, amount given, as well as whether or not any extra treats would be permitted. Afterwards, I will let them out a final time to do their business again, and get them as calm to the best of my abilities before saying goodbye.
