Hi, my name is Karin and I’m the owner of Hounds of Tens in Vancouver BC! Since I was a child, animals have been my world. At age 11, I started volunteering walking dogs for the BCSPCA. I moved on to work there for 5 years as a youth educator and program coordinator, teaching children how to interact with animals using positive reinforcement methods. I worked professionally as a pack walker in West Vancouver with Stay Pooched, leading off-leash hikes through Cypress Park and surrounding trails. I learned so much during this time from my former boss, who played a huge role in shaping how I approach this work now. Her professionalism, deep care for the dogs and high standards continue to inspire me as I expand my business! I also lived and worked at HABITAT (Bilje, Croatia) - a rescue, daycare and boarding facility for dogs. I supported rescue efforts, offered 24/7 care, and learned more about navigating pack dynamics while living amongst the dogs and working alongside seasoned trainers, and animal welfare professionals. Hounds of Tens was created in memory of my own lifelong best friend, Honey 💜 who walked beside me in her final years while I led my first pack hikes. 🐕 Now with over 100 five star reviews on Rover and Google, her legacy lives on and our little family continues to grow! We’d love to invite your pup to be a part of it :)

Little Paws Boarding & Adventures! 🐾 Our day starts around 7am with a short walk around the neighborhood and breakfast. Your pup will join our daily pack walks in Pacific Spirit Park, Mcdonald Beach, or Capilano River Park with a group of 3-6 social dogs! 🐶 We do up to 3+ hours of off-leash time per day, however your pup is welcome to participate for as long or as little as they like. Back home they will have loads of toys, puzzles and chews to keep their minds stimulated! Or maybe they prefer to nap on the couch or on one of the doggy hammocks. 😴 We go for our last shorter walk around 9/10pm before bedtime!
