If I could give more than a 5-star review, I would do it in a heartbeat. Tenal has been nothing short of extraordinary in caring for Dakota. Her attention to detail and commitment to maintaining Dakota's routines, from walking in a "heel" to going to her "place" on the mat, have been impeccable. What sets Tenal apart is her ability to make sure Dakota isn't just well-looked after, but genuinely happy and thriving. The regular updates with beautiful photos and videos are great comfort to us. It's heartwarming to see Dakota so content and enjoying her time while being boarded. Tenal's professionalism and affection for the pets she cares for are evident in every interaction. Tenal has mastered the art of providing a dog with structure and love at the same time. I wholeheartedly recommend Tenal for both day-sitting and boarding.

Expérience de Tenal B.
Hi, I'm Tenal! I offer in-home boarding for anyone looking for a true "home away from home" alternative to kennels. I live in a semi-detached, two story house with a fully fenced backyard in Vaughan. I've been boarding dogs for many years (you can check out my boarding Instagram @boutiqueboarding). On top of that, I have a degree in Animal Biology & Behaviour, along with 13+ years of animal care experience, including work as a dog trainer and in shelters, grooming facilities, vet clinics and dog daycares. I've also spent over a decade fostering and volunteering with rescues. I'm comfortable with dogs of all sizes and temperaments, from puppies to seniors, including working breeds, special-needs dogs and dogs with behavioural challenges. I have experience with and am comfortable with both PR+ and balanced training.

Une journée typique
I keep my home small and calm: generally no more than one to two dogs in my care (in addition to my own dog). Exceptions are possible for multi-dog households. My dog Seth, a 23 lb potcake, is dog-social but reads cues well and gives space to dogs who prefer minimal interaction. My partner and I both work from home full-time, so your dog gets structured care all day. A typical day includes morning and evening walks or runs, meals on your dog's schedule, play and enrichment sessions, structured play with my dog if they're dog social, time in my fully fenced backyard, and naps. Dogs are crated overnight and whenever they're unsupervised, with stuffed frozen Kongs or durable toys to keep crate time relaxed. For safety, I don't visit dog parks, allow interactions with outside dogs, or do on-leash greetings. I'm bonded and insured (ProFur), DogSafe Canine First Aid/CPR certified, and can give oral and injected medications. Expect multiple photo and video updates every day!

Avis
From the moment we first met Tenal we knew our little Lou would be in the safest pair of hands - which is exactly what every pet parent wants when they go away. As first time boarders, we knew we wanted someone who would have the time, energy, and patience to look after Louis while we were away. Tenal went above and beyond - taking the time to understand Louis, his needs, and how to keep him busy and engaged for two weeks. Her check-ins were amazing, and we could tell from afar just how much he was enjoying his time. We would highly recommend Tenal to anyone looking to board their pup - not only will they leave just as happy and healthy as you left them - but you'll also have peace of mind that they're in a loving and caring environment throughout their stay. Thanks for taking care of our little guy, Tenal! We're still so grateful! He'll definitely be back :)
